Having a nice back side is just as important as your front because clothes fit better, you feel more comfortable and you feel more confident. Shaping your rear is not as easy as shaping your stomach, which can be done at the gym. Instead, many people have undergone either butt implant surgery or what is commonly known as a Brazilian Butt Lift.
What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?
A traditional butt implant procedure differs from a Brazilian Butt Lift because it involves an actual implant much like that used for breast enhancement. In a Brazilian Butt lift procedure, Dr. Mark Youssef uses a patients’ own fatty tissue to sculpt and significantly contour the buttock region. It is common practice for the doctor to use your own body fat to enhance your buttocks since fat is your own body substance; it looks natural and there is a very low chance for complications during or after the procedure.
How does the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure work?
Dr. Youssef combines liposculpture and fat injection to give you a natural look; sculpted and enhanced to your specifications. First, the doctor creates a frame for the buttock by liposuctioning out fat from the stomach, love handles, thighs, arms, etc. Then, in order to ensure longevity, he processes and purifies the removed fat and injects it back into the buttocks. Once the injections have been made into the different layers of fat and muscle, Dr. Youssef will massage the fat until it settles into place, giving your buttocks a fuller, curvier look.

Who is an ideal candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift?
An ideal candidate for Brazilian Butt Lift surgery has excess fat but is no more than 30 pounds overweight. You must be in good health and at least 18 years of age. It is highly recommended to know what to expect in terms of recovery, long term results, and have realistic goals about the procedure. Thin patients, or those with a low fat reservoir are better candidates for butt implants.
What are the risks involved with a Brazilian Butt Lift?
Dr. Youssef wants all of his patients to know the advantages and disadvantages with all of the procedures he performs. When it comes to a Brazilian Butt Lift and fat injection, some of the fat transferred will be reabsorbed into the body. It is difficult to predict exactly how much fat will be reabsorbed, but to ensure permanency, the doctor injects the fat in areas close to a blood supply so that the fat has better chance of survival. It will take some time for your body to absorb the fat, but it is safe to say that the results become permanent after six months.
What is the recovery process for a Brazilian Butt Lift?
After the procedure you are going to have to wear a body garment for four weeks. You won’t feel any discomfort in your rear at all, but you may see bruising and some swelling. Also, you may be a bit sore or tender around the areas where the fat was removed for several weeks. Take about a week (or a little more) off from work while recovering. |
