While there are many areas that clients seek anti-aging treatments for on both the face and body, we get some requests more than others. You may already have an idea of a feature you want to target, but if not, this post may help you identify areas you would like to improve.
Below are some of the most popular areas we treat with dermal fillers at our medical skin spa in Santa Monica.
1. The Elevens
Formally known as the “Glabella Region,” the “Elevens” refer to the lines and creases between the eyebrows. They’re called “Elevens” since they appear like the number itself and can give people an angry appearance. These wrinkles are caused by making facial expressions such as frowning, sleeping on your face or on one side of it, and sun damage. Due to genetics, some may experience very deep creases at an earlier age than others. Botox offers an excellent treatment for this area. The multitasking filler plumps up the area and stops the muscles from contracting in this position.

2. Tear Troughs
Aging causes us to lose fat in our faces, especially the areas under our eyes in the “tear trough.” This makes our eyes appear deep, sunken and hollow and can cause the formation of under eye circles. Dermal fillers provide the ideal way to fill in this area, reduce bagginess and even diminish the appearance of dark circles. Many clients choose Juvederm and Restylane for the tear trough region.
3. Cheek Volume
The cheeks are another extremely popular area clients wish to target with dermal fillers. Our cheeks can flatten over time and appear hollow or shallow due to fat loss and aging. Dermal fillers replace volume in the area and plump up the area where a nasojugal groove can develop. Injectables can also add definition to make cheekbones appear more sculpted and prominent. Restylane Lyft, Juvederm and Voluma are all popular options for adding fullness to the mid-face and cheek area.

4. Lip Volume
One of the most popular anti-aging treatments at our skin spa is lip augmentation. Many women seek injections to boost volume for plumper, younger-looking lips. Fillers also provide contour and create symmetry for those who have a thinner upper lip. Over time and with repeated expressions, many people develop wrinkles in the upper lip area. Injections can reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the upper lips and prevent future lines from forming.
5. Chin Wrinkles
An area that is growing in popularity among clients at our skin spa is the chin. Over time and with sun damage, the chin muscles can cause the bottom of the face to wrinkle. This leads to what is referred to as an “orange peel” appearance at the bottom of their face. Fillers like Botox can be used to smooth the area and relax the muscles so the wrinkles and creases do not worsen.
