Procedure
To start, we use adrenaline-infused anesthesia to treat the surgical area. This not only numbs the area, but constricts the blood vessels to further reduce pain. Instead of removing skin, we make 3 to 5 tiny incisions around the breast in order to insert a cannula (small metal tube). The tube removes excess fat in a process called tumescent liposuction.
Recovery
We provide a supportive bra that we require patients to wear 24 hours a day. This helps to minimize sagging and speeds up healing after breast reduction in Santa Monica. We encourage taking daily 30 minute walks improve blood circulation. Avoid shaving or swimming for a few days to prevent infection. Most patients recover without taking pain medication, but it’s perfectly fine to take if necessary. Any swelling or bruising should fade within a few weeks.

How long does a full recovery take from a breast reduction?
After every breast reduction surgery, we provide a supportive bra to take with you. Make sure you have someone drive you home. It can take about 3 to 5 weeks for your breasts to re-settle into their natural position.
Every Younique patient is different. You may find that you’re able to return to your daily activities after just 3 weeks. However, make sure you give your body all the time it needs to heal properly.
How many cup sizes can I go down with a breast reduction?
Generally, breast reductions surgeries performed at Younique can bring a patient’s cup size down 1 to 2 sizes. We can achieve more for patients with extremely large breasts.
