Benefits of Double Chin Liposuction in Los Angeles
Anti-Aging
Double chin liposuction removes the fat under your jawline, and it often improves the “waggle” that can appear in more mature patients.
Aesthetic Improvement
After your double chin liposuction in Los Angeles fully heals, your chin will have a “thinner” appeal with a more refined profile and visible jawline.
Quick Results
Double chin liposuction provides a single, fast, and permanent solution to excess submental fat.
Consultation
It starts with a personal consultation with your trained and licensed Younique provider. During this relaxed one-on-one, they’ll discuss your concerns, your goals for treatment, and your medical history, plus examine your treatment locations. If your provider determines you are a candidate for double chin liposuction, your surgery can be scheduled and you’ll be filled in on the pre-surgery preparation details.
Procedure
Chin liposuction is a great (and permanent!) surgical option for double chin reduction. During the 2 hour procedure, your Younique provider inserts a small tube called a “cannula” into different areas of the chin. Using gentle suction, small and strategic fat cells are removed from each area in the chin.
Submentoplasty works by making small incisions under the chin and removing fatty deposits by way of liposuction to tighten the muscles in the neck.
Recovery
We use IV or general sedation, so you’ll want to secure transportation home. The submental fat removal process itself can be relatively short, though the preparation and sedation can lengthen the session. You will experience some discomfort for a few days following your double chin liposuction in Los Angeles, so your Younique provider may prescribe pain medication to help. You should be able to return to non-strenuous work in 2 to 3 days, and you can resume regular exercise in 3 weeks.
Is being overweight the cause of a double chin?
It can be, but that doesn’t mean it must be. Some of the common potential causes of a double chin include:
- Aging. As you grow older, the natural aging process results in muscle loss and loose skin. Muscles in the chin slacken and skin stretches, increasing the likelihood of a double chin.
- Genetics. There’s a good chance that your double chin is inherited. If you have other family members with a double chin, you may have a greater risk of developing one yourself. Genetics often affect fat storage and water retention, which can both lead to a double chin.
- Extra Weight. Extra weight or body fat is another common cause of a double chin. Of course, even individuals who are at a healthy weight may develop a double chin.
With regards to genetics, if other members of your family, such as parents or grandparents, have double chins, then you likely have a much higher chance of developing one.
