Treatment
After cleansing the skin in the treatment area, your Younique provider will administer local anesthesia to the buttocks and/or thighs to help ensure your comfort. Next, your provider makes a small incision and uses the specialized Avéli handheld device to penetrate the skin. The device has a tiny blade that the doctor uses to cut and release a number of specifically chosen fibrous bands called septa—the real reason why cellulite occurs.
Recovery
Once the chosen septa have been severed, your provider will supply you with compression leggings and cushion pads to decrease swelling and protect the area as it heals. Once you’re prepared, you’re free to leave the office immediately. There will be some bruising and swelling in the treatment area, and you can expect a certain degree of post-op discomfort for the first 24 to 48 hours.
