It starts with a personal consultation with your trained and licensed Younique provider. During this one-on-one, they’ll discuss your concerns, your goals for treatment, and your medical history. If your provider determines that buccal fat removal is a good fit for you, your surgery can be scheduled and you’ll be filled in on the pre-surgery preparation details.
Procedure
Your outpatient buccal fat removal in Los Angeles will take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, which means after you are done, you’ll be able to go home! After the treatment area has been cleansed, your surgeon will mark the buccal fat targets with a pen before putting you under local or general anesthesia. The surgeon will then make an incision on the inside of your cheek and use a suction device to remove the buccal fat pad. Scarring isn’t visible, and most patients return to normal activities as early as the next day.
Recovery
If we use general anesthesia for your buccal fat removal procedure, you’ll need someone to give you transportation home. You’ll probably experience swelling and soreness around the treatment area directly afterward. This will dissipate over time, usually taking about 2 to 4 weeks for full healing. After 2 months or so, your cheeks should appear leaner and your cheekbones more defined.
