Benefits of Labiaplasty in Los Angeles
Aesthetics
Whether time, childbirth, or genetics have created a drooping or misshapen labia, labiaplasty can reshape your labia for comfort and visual appeal.
Comfort
An enlarged labia can rub against clothes, causing discomfort and medical issues. Labiaplasty can remove the excess skin without losing sensitivity.
Sex
Not only can your labia’s improved appearance make you feel more sexy and “in the mood,” labiaplasty keeps your labia from getting painfully in the way of intercourse.
Consultation
It starts with a personal consultation with your trained and licensed Younique provider. During this one-on-one, they’ll discuss your concerns, your goals for treatment, and your medical history. If your provider determines that labiaplasty in Los Angeles is the best option, your surgery can be scheduled, and you’ll be filled in on the pre-surgery preparation details.
Procedure
To start your labiaplasty surgery, your Younique provider will administer general anesthesia for your maximum comfort. Then, with your rejuvenation goals in mind, your provider will alter the inner and/or outer labial lips—the labia minora and/or labia majora. This alteration could involve several different surgical techniques, including trimming excess tissue and/or removal of a “wedge” of tissue to reduce thickness. Labiaplasty usually takes 1 to 2 hours for most patients. It’s done as an outpatient procedure, and usually dissolvable sutures are used on any incisions.
Recovery
Discomfort and pain in the genital area after labiaplasty surgery can be relieved with pain medication. Ice packs can be used to help minimize swelling and reduce pain. Within a few days, most patients feel much better. Patients should abstain from sexual intercourse for 6 weeks post-surgery. Additionally, strenuous exercise, the use of tampons, thong underwear, bathtubs, and hot tubs should be avoided. Most patients are able to go back to work after a week or less as long as their job requires no strenuous activity.
How long does labiaplasty take?
The labiaplasty surgery itself usually takes around 1 to 2 hours. The recovery time requires about 6 to 8 weeks. All patients are different, so your Younique surgeon will discuss your specifics during your consultation, and you’ll have a full understanding of the details for the surgery and realistic expectations for the outcome.
How do I know if I'm a good candidate for labiaplasty?
Every woman’s labia are unique. There’s not a standard of appearance that needs to be applied. However, if your labia have changed in how they look and feel, or if they cause discomfort and/or pain wearing clothing or during sexual activity, you’re a good candidate. It also helps if you are healthy and a non-smoker, and do not plan on having any more children via natural childbirth.
