Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Los Angeles for Better Healing After Surgery

Surgery happens. It can help us address issues, fix problems, and generally get better!

The trick is: How do we get better, faster? Quicker healing is more appealing.

That’s why Younique Surgery Center and Med Spa offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy in Los Angeles! HBO therapy lets you recline and totally relax as it increases both the oxygen content in your chamber and the air pressure. Your body absorbs more oxygen, making your recovery quicker and more effective with less discomfort and issues.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help with other issues too. It’s time to breathe easier about your recovery!

What Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Los Angeles Treats

  • Decompression sickness
  • Osteomyelitis
  • Carbon monoxide poisoning
  • Air and gas embolism
  • Actinomycosis
  • Unresponsive diabetic lesions
  • Gas gangrene
  • Reduced arteries’ blood flow

Benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Less Downtime

“HBO” improves natural healing and recovery time along with the healing’s effectiveness.

Decreased Swelling

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can decrease swelling from surgery for better comfort during convalescence.

Pure Simplicity

You can relax—and even nap—while the hyperbaric chamber applies the pressurized oxygen.

The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Process

What to Expect

It starts with a personal consultation with your trained and licensed Younique provider. During this relaxing and energizing one-on-one, they’ll discuss your concerns, your goals for treatment, and your medical history. If your provider determines that hyperbaric oxygen therapy in Los Angeles is the best treatment for your concerns and goals, your session can be scheduled.

For your treatment, you’ll be placed comfortably inside a machine that increases the oxygen pressure. The pressure level and the time spent in the chamber depend on the case characteristics and the condition requiring treatment. For most treatments, the pressure level is 1.5 to 3 times normal atmospheric pressure.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy helps your lungs obtain more oxygen. As a result, your red blood cells transport this increased oxygen through the body, releasing stem cells and growth factors—2 primary factors in healing and recovery.

There is no general downtime necessary after hyperbaric oxygen therapy. However, some patients experience small side effects.

The most common side effect is feeling the ears plugged. It can be eased by yawning, swallowing, or chewing bubble gum.

Other side effects include low blood glucose levels in diabetic patients and feeling lightheaded after the procedure. Patients may also experience fatigue and headache. Nonetheless, the side effects are mild and disappear after a while. Your Younique provider will go over all the details during your consultation.
