Benefits of Lymphatic Massage in Los Angeles
Reduced Swelling
Pain and swelling caused by lymph fluids backing up can be eased when the lymph system is flowing correctly.
Toxin Release
Lymphatic massage helps your lymph fluid flow better, removing toxins more efficiently from your body.
Fat Reduction
Because lymphatic massage improves blood circulation and reduces stress, it can help your system reduce localized fat.
Consultation
It starts with a personal consultation with your trained and licensed Younique provider. During this one-on-one, they’ll discuss your concerns, your goals for treatment, and your medical history. If your provider determines that lymphatic massage in Los Angeles is the best option, your procedure can be scheduled, and you’ll be filled in on any preparation details.
Procedure
Lymphatic massage is, at its core, a form of massage. When you arrive for your treatment, wear comfortable clothing in which you can lie down comfortably and move easily.
During your 1-hour lymphatic massage therapy, your provider will gently apply hand motions and positioning to stretch and move the skin and underlying tissue in the direction of your lymphatic flow.
Recovery
There is no recovery or downtime needed for lymphatic massage. Because your body is moving and eliminating (draining) excess and backed-up fluid, your massage can be dehydrating. You’ll need to stay hydrated after your massage and drink 16 to 32 ounces of water in the hour or so following your therapy.
This rehydration of your system will also help your kidneys flush out the toxins which your lymphatic system has drained from your body.
What else can lymphatic massage help with?
Lymphatic massage helps with swelling caused by poor circulation of blood and lymph fluid. It may also help people who have issues with
- Stress
- Chronic abdominal bloating
- Lipoedema
- Menopause
- Osteoarthritis
- Digestive issues
- Skin conditions
- Allergies
- Colds
- Congested sinuses
Inform your Younique provider about other conditions or concerns you may have. When they have a full understanding of your situation, they can help determine if lymphatic massage therapy can help with your other conditions.
Who doesn't make a good candidate for lymphatic massage?
Though lymphatic drainage therapy can assist with the pain and bloating of several conditions, you should probably avoid it if you suffer from:
- Skin infections
- Congestive heart failure
- Acute deep venous thrombosis (DVT)
- Emphysema
- Kidney failure
- Blood clots
It’s always smart to consult your medical provider about any therapies you wish to have.
