Benefits of Rhinoplasty in Los Angeles
Improved Symmetry
With rhinoplasty, you can decrease or increase nose size and eliminate bumps or depressions to improve the symmetry of this facial feature.
Facial Balance
The size of your nose can be adjusted to bring your facial features into beautiful aesthetic balance.
Better Shape
Your nostrils, nasal tip, and nasal bridge can all be adjusted to give you a nose that better suits your face.
Consultation
It starts with a personal consultation with your trained and licensed Younique provider. During this one-on-one, they’ll discuss your concerns, your goals for treatment, and your medical history. If your provider determines that rhinoplasty is the appropriate procedure, your surgery can be scheduled, and you’ll be filled in on the pre-surgery preparation details.
Procedure
This 1- to 2-hour procedure can be done in 2 different ways: a “closed” rhinoplasty or an “open” rhinoplasty. In an open rhinoplasty, your surgeon creates an incision across the tissue separating the nostrils. The skin is peeled back so they can reshape the bone, cartilage, and tissue. Afterward, the skin is re-draped and the incision is sutured. In a closed rhinoplasty, all incisions are made within the nostrils. Because it allows less access to the bone, cartilage, and tissues, this version works best for mild or moderate changes.
Recovery
After their rhinoplasty, patients wear a nasal splint for 5 to 8 days. Before you leave our office, we’ll also add nasal packing to help alleviate swelling and bleeding. The packing should be removed the day after the surgery.
Pain is well managed with prescribed or over-the-counter medicines, and most people feel better after around 48 hours. The nose may be noticeably swollen for around 2 weeks, and even then, it can take up to a full year for the nose to heal completely and achieve its final form.
Can rhinoplasty in Los Angeles also improve my breathing through my nose?
Generally, rhinoplasty addresses the appearance of the nose and is considered to be a cosmetic procedure. If you have breathing issues through your nose because of airflow through the nasal airways, you may instead want to consider septoplasty, which addresses the internal cartilage and bone of the nose to improve breathing. A septoplasty is considered a medically necessary procedure and can sometimes be covered under insurance.
Do I have to stay overnight after my rhinoplasty surgery?
An overnight stay isn’t necessary because almost all of our rhinoplasty in Los Angeles is done on an outpatient basis. Because our “nose jobs” are done under general anesthesia, however, you will need to have transportation scheduled for your journey home after the surgery. If you’ve come from out of town, we will be happy to help you find accommodations for the night.
