Procedure
Also called facial fat grafting, a facial fat transfer addresses 2 areas of your body. First, the doctor numbs both the donor and treatment sites with local anesthesia and thoroughly cleans them. Then, your Younique provider will make small incisions in the donor area and use a tiny tube called a cannula to gently harvest the fat. Based on your slimming goals and medical preferences, this can be taken from areas like the thighs, abdomen, or buttocks.
Once harvested, your surgeon carefully injects the fat beneath the skin of your face to restore volume, fill hollow cheeks, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, plump lips, and add fullness and lift to your cheekbones.
Recovery
You can expect some swelling and bruising at both the donor and recipient areas during the first week—possibly longer depending on how much fat is transferred. These effects usually subside within 10 to 14 days. Most patients are able to return to their regular activities about 7 days after the procedure.

Why would I need more than one facial fat transfer procedure?
The number of procedures needed will depend on your treatment goals. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, about 50% of the fat transferred during the procedure typically survives, with the rest naturally being absorbed by your body. If the recipient area needs a significant amount of filler to reach your desired outcome, multiple procedures may be required to fully achieve the desired volume.

Does a facial fat transfer leave scars?
Though the post-operative bruising and swelling might worry some patients, those will disappear within 2 to 6 weeks.
