Our process begins with a consultation with one of our licensed Younique providers. During this personal meeting, we discuss your concerns, medical history, and goals for surgery. If your provider determines that labial fat transfer in Santa Monica is perfect for you, we’ll schedule your treatment, and you’ll be filled in on any details to prepare you for surgery.
Procedure
We perform this 1-hour outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. Your Younique provider will use liposuction to extract fat from unwanted areas, such as the hips or thighs, using a small device called a cannula. After removing the fat, it is harvested and purified. Your provider will then reintroduce it into the labia majora, close to the blood vessels, to ensure permanency and growth. This increases volume while reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
Recovery
You can expect some bruising and swelling at both the extraction and injection sites for around 10 days following your procedure. Gently apply a cool compress to reduce swelling and relieve discomfort. Many of our Younique patients return to work 2 days after treatment. Complete recovery may take up to 6 to 8 weeks. During this time, we recommend refraining from sexual activity.

How do I prepare for labial fat transfer in Santa Monica?
There are a few things to keep in mind when preparing for your labial fat transfer:
- Don’t take aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, and other blood-thinning herbs or supplements for 7 days prior to surgery, if medically safe
- Don’t smoke for at least 2 weeks before surgery
- Avoid alcohol for 2 weeks before your labial fat transfer
- Stay hydrated
- Arrange transportation to and from our surgery center, as we highly discourage driving after surgery
