Benefits of Skin Lesion Removal in Oxnard
Improved Appearance & Confidence
Removing visible lesions like moles, skin tags, or cysts can enhance your skin’s appearance, giving you a smoother, more even look, boosting your self-confidence.
Comfort & Relief
Some lesions can cause discomfort, itchiness, or irritation, especially when rubbed by clothing or jewelry. Removal can eliminate these daily annoyances and improve your quality of life.
Early Warning
Lesion removal allows for a proper evaluation and biopsy, helping detect early signs of skin cancer or other health concerns that may not be visible to the naked eye.
Consultation
It starts with a personal consultation with your licensed Younique provider. During this one-on-one, they’ll discuss your concerns, goals for treatment, and medical history. They will also inspect lesions in the treatment area. Depending on the presentation of the lesion, a biopsy might be ordered. If your provider determines that one of our treatments for skin lesion removal in Oxnard is the best for your concerns, we can schedule your session.

Procedure
Your treatment begins with your Younique provider thoroughly cleansing the treatment area and removing any makeup, if necessary. We’ll administer a local anesthetic to the site, and when the skin is numb, we will remove the lesion. No matter which treatment best suits your skin, medical history, and lesion location, the procedure should be painless.

Recovery
Most treatments require no downtime whatsoever, so after you’re done, you can get back to your routine. Depending on the treatment, there may be some soreness, redness, bruising, and/or peeling or flaking of the skin. Aftercare instructions for the specific procedure will be given by your Younique provider along with recommendations for pain medications and ways to ease discomfort. Results are permanent.

What is actinic keratoses?
Also known as actinic keratosis (AK), these are precancerous skin lesions commonly caused by prolonged UV exposure. AK is especially prevalent in fair-skinned individuals who have spent significant time in the sun.
Actinic keratoses typically show up as thick, scaly, or crusty patches on the skin. If you notice any suspicious growths like these, it’s important to contact Younique Surgery Center and Med Spa promptly. Untreated AK carries about a 20% risk of developing into squamous cell carcinoma, the second most common form of skin cancer. People with bald heads are at a higher risk of developing AK.
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a highly effective treatment for actinic keratosis, offering a 14% greater chance of completely clearing the lesions within three months compared to cryotherapy. PDT also tends to provide better cosmetic results than other treatment options. An in-person evaluation is necessary to determine if PDT is the right choice for you.

Your consultation with your provider and their assessment of your lesion(s) will determine the best course of action. If the lesion looks like it could be cancerous, you may be directed to consult your medical provider or dermatologist.
If the lesion is precancerous, we have several treatment options that address different presentations, locations, and personal sensitivities.
- Photodynamic Therapy (PDT). Light energy combined with a prescription photosensitizer destroys lesion tissue.
- Excision. The lesion is cut out, and the surgical wound is sutured shut.
- Shaving. A scalpel is used to shave off the upper layers of the lesion, exposing newer skin.
- Laser Treatment. Laser energy destroys the lesion’s cells and triggers healing.
- Cryotherapy. Liquid nitrogen is applied to the lesion, destroying it.
- Hyfrecation. This specialized machine applies a high-frequency pulse to kill the lesion cells.
