• Silicone Implants: Silicone gel implants are a popular choice for their cohesive “gummy bear” gel that closely mimics natural breast tissue in feel. They come pre-filled with a soft silicone gel, offering a very natural texture and shape. Modern silicone implants are long-lasting and unlikely to leak; even if a rupture occurs, the gel stays largely intact for safety.
• Saline Implants: Empty saline implants are inserted empty and then filled during surgery, allowing the surgeon to make minor adjustments for ideal symmetry. Saline implants provide a firm, uplifted look and are a reliable option for many patients.
• Fat Transfer (Natural Augmentation): For those desiring a subtler enhancement, fat transfer breast augmentation uses your own purified fat to add volume. Liposuction is first performed to gently harvest fat from a donor area (such as the tummy, flanks, or thighs), and that fat is then carefully injected into the breasts to sculpt your desired shape. This method is excellent for minor size increases and refined shaping, and because it’s your own tissue, the breasts will feel completely natural with no implant involved. Fat transfer can also be used to enhance implant results – for example, adding a layer of fat over implants for an even softer, more natural feel.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Immediately After Surgery: You will rest in our recovery suite until you are fully awake and cleared to leave. Your chest will be wrapped in a supportive surgical bra or bandage. It’s normal to experience mild to moderate soreness, tightness, and fatigue for the first couple of days. We will ensure you have appropriate pain medication and detailed instructions for home care. Plan to relax and have a loved one assist you at home for at least the first 24–48 hours.
• First Week: Swelling and bruising will be at their peak in the initial week, but these effects are managed by wearing a supportive bra 24/7 as directed[26]. This special surgical bra helps minimize swelling and keeps your implants in proper position as you heal. By the end of week one, most patients are up and about, feeling significantly more comfortable. We will see you for a follow-up appointment during this week to check your incisions and ensure you’re healing well.
• Return to Work & Daily Activities: Many of our breast augmentation patients are able to return to desk work or light activities after just 3 to 5 days, depending on how they feel. By one week out, you can resume most normal daily tasks that don’t involve heavy lifting. You should continue wearing the support bra as advised (usually for a few weeks).
• 2–4 Weeks Post-Op: As you move into the later weeks of recovery, swelling and tenderness continue to subside. You’ll notice your breasts settling into a more natural position. Around 3-4 weeks, low-impact exercise can usually be resumed, but strenuous exercise or lifting (anything over ~10 pounds) should be avoided for about 4-6 weeks or until Dr. Youssef gives you the green light. It’s important to let your body fully heal internally to protect your beautiful results.
