In this case, “perfect” is in the nose of the beholder. The answer for you lies in your overall aesthetic goals and your comfort with how your nose currently relates to your other facial features.
The different angles, planes, and elements of nose size and shape—and their harmony with the rest of the face—determine whether it is big, small, or symmetrical.
Your nose can be divided into three general measures:
- Length. Measured from the root, located at the top of the nose right between the eyebrows, to the tip of the nose.
- Width. Measured from side to side on a frontal plane.
- Height. Indicated by how much the nose projects forward into space.
Generally speaking, in a well-balanced face, the length of the nose should be about ⅓ of the size of the face. Because these measures are all intertwined, making drastic changes in one aspect will affect the others.
