Consultation
It begins with a personal consultation with your licensed Younique provider. During this relaxing one-on-one, they discuss:
- Your concerns
- Your goals for treatment
- Your complete medical history
If your provider decides that chin implants in Oxnard are the best treatment for your goals, they can schedule your implant surgery and fill you in on all pre-surgery details to ensure you’re fully prepared.

Procedure
Depending on your implant size and location, your surgery will be performed using either local or general anesthesia. Typically, the surgery takes about 1 hour to complete.
Your licensed surgeon will make an incision where your gums and lip/facial skin meet, or under the chin. Your implant is perfectly sized to your unique goals and facial anatomy and is inserted through the incision. Once the implant is situated and secured, sutures close up your incision.

Recovery
It’s normal to experience some discomfort for up to a week after your chin implant surgery. Your lower jaw will be tender and somewhat swollen and bruised. The majority of patients can go back to work and their usual routine within 7 to 10 days. Since swelling subsides gradually, you may not see final results for 3–4 months following the procedure.

Are chin implants and chin augmentation the same?
Yes—and no! Chin implants in Oxnard are a type of chin augmentation. However, a chin augmentation surgery, also referred to as “mentoplasty,” can involve surgically moving and reshaping the bone structure directly. This isn’t what we do during the chin implant procedure.
Why is "weak chin" an issue?
Your chin is key to a well-defined facial structure and shape. A poorly developed or recessed chin might create disharmony, diminishing the attractiveness of other facial features. An aesthetically weak chin can throw off the balance of the face, emphasizing the nose and/or forehead.
