Consultation
It starts with a personal consultation with your trained and licensed Younique provider. During this one-on-one, they’ll discuss your concerns, your goals in seeking a rhinoplasty, and your medical history. If your provider determines that a rhinoplasty is the appropriate procedure, your surgery day can be scheduled and you’ll be filled in on the pre-surgery preparation details.
Procedure
Your 1- to 2-hour ethnic rhinoplasty surgery can be done in 2 different ways—an “open” or a “closed” rhinoplasty. During an open ethnic rhinoplasty, your surgeon creates an incision across the tissue separating the nostrils. The skin is peeled back so he can reshape the bone, cartilage, and tissue. Afterward, the skin is re-draped and the incision is sutured. During a closed ethnic rhinoplasty, all incisions are made within the nostrils. Because it allows less access to the bone, cartilage, and tissues, this version works best for minor or moderate changes.
Recovery
After ethnic rhinoplasty, patients wear a nasal splint for 5 to 8 days; we will provide nasal packing to help alleviate swelling and bleeding. This packing can be removed the day after the surgery. Discomfort after your procedure is well managed with prescribed or over-the-counter medicines, and most people feel better after around 48 hours. The nose may be noticeably swollen for around 2 weeks, and it can take up to a full year for your results to fully realize.

Can ethnic rhinoplasty help my exercise?
Exercise is an integral part of feeling good and staying healthy! From a pick-up game with friends to jogging along the pier to surfing, getting active is a major part of being at your peak.
However, ethnic rhinoplasty is generally considered to be a cosmetic procedure. if you’re having trouble breathing through your nose, you may instead want to consider a septoplasty. A septoplasty addresses the internal cartilage and bone of the nose to improve breathing, and can be considered a medically necessary procedure.
How long does it take to see full results of an ethic rhinoplasty?
Most Younique patients may not see a drastic change in the total size of their nose once it has fully healed. This can take up to a year.
This lack of looking like you got a “nose job” is good thing because it promotes a natural appearance for your ethnic rhinoplasty, rather than sudden, drastic, obvious changes. However, our patients find that the aesthetic improvements in how their noses look, from the new/altered angles and proportions to the de-emphasis of areas they disliked, can often feel quite dramatic. We’ll make sure to take before-and-after photos for you (not that your phone won’t already have a 1000% increase in selfies from your renewed confidence!).
