If rhinoplasty is the right fit for you, we’ll go ahead and set a date and fill you in on all the necessary pre-surgery details to get you ready for the big day!

Procedure
Your 1- to 2-hour ethnic rhinoplasty surgery can be done as an “open” or “closed” rhinoplasty.
In an open ethnic rhinoplasty, a small incision is made across the tissue between the nostrils, allowing the surgeon to reshape the nose’s underlying structures. Afterward, the skin is gently repositioned, and the incision is closed.
In a closed ethnic rhinoplasty, all incisions are made inside the nostrils, which is ideal for making minor to moderate adjustments, though it provides less access to the internal structures.
When you visit us for ethnic rhinoplasty in Oxnard, we’ll discuss the surgical technique Dr. Youssef plans to use during your consultation.

Recovery
After surgery, patients usually wear a nasal splint for 5 to 8 days. We also provide nasal packing to help reduce swelling and bleeding, and patients can remove it the day after surgery.
You’ll be able to manage any discomfort with prescribed or over-the-counter medications, and most patients start feeling better within about 48 hours. Some swelling may last up to 2 weeks, but it can take up to a year for the full results to appear.

How does an ethnic rhinoplasty vary by heritage?
Dr. Youssef, through thousands of successful surgeries, has identified five main categories of ethnic rhinoplasty, each with its own unique goals.
- For African American rhinoplasty, the focus is on slightly narrowing the nasal bridge while enhancing the profile with cartilage.
- Hispanic rhinoplasty often involves defining the tip of the nose, along with tapering and smoothing the nose and nostrils for a more refined appearance.
- In Asian rhinoplasty, the goal is to add volume to the nose using cartilage, giving it a more distinct and defined shape.
- For Middle Eastern rhinoplasty, the emphasis is on lifting the tip of the nose and reducing its overall size for a more balanced look.
- Lastly, Caucasian rhinoplasty typically aims to eliminate bumps on the nasal bridge and to bring symmetry to the tip and nostrils, creating a harmonious balance.
At Younique Surgery, our ethnic rhinoplasty is tailored to suit the individual features of each patient, ensuring beautiful, personalized results!
How long does it take to see full results of an ethic rhinoplasty?
Seeing your full results can take up to one year after your ethnic rhinoplasty in Oxnard.
What’s unique about ethnic rhinoplasty is that it does not often dramatically change the size of your nose. This subtle transformation takes up to a year to produce final results, which allows for a natural appearance rather than sudden, noticeable alterations. While the changes may not be extreme, patients often find that the aesthetic improvements—such as enhanced angles, proportions, and the softening of areas they don’t like—feel quite significant. We’ll make sure to capture before-and-after photos for you, though we’re sure your phone will already be flooded with a thousand new selfies thanks to your boosted confidence!
