Procedure
Your 1- to 2-hour ethnic rhinoplasty surgery can be done as an “open” or “closed” rhinoplasty. In an open ethnic rhinoplasty, your surgeon makes an incision across the tissue between the nostrils.
The skin is gently lifted, allowing them to reshape the bone, cartilage, and tissue. Afterward, the skin is laid back in place, and the incision is stitched up.
With a closed ethnic rhinoplasty, all the incisions are made inside the nostrils. This method offers less access to the bone and cartilage, making it ideal for smaller or more moderate adjustments.
Recovery
After your ethnic rhinoplasty in Santa Monica, you’ll wear a nasal splint for about 5 to 8 days, and we’ll give you nasal packing to help with swelling and bleeding. The packing can be removed the day after your surgery. Any discomfort is easily managed with prescription or over-the-counter meds, and most people start feeling better within 48 hours. Your nose may stay swollen for a couple of weeks, but it can take up to a year for the final results to fully settle in.

Ethnic rhinoplasty is typically considered a cosmetic procedure. If you’re having trouble breathing through your nose, a septoplasty might be a better option. This procedure focuses on the internal cartilage and bone of your nose to improve airflow and can be deemed medically necessary.
How long does it take to see full results of an ethic rhinoplasty?
Most Younique patients won’t notice a huge change in the overall size of their nose until it’s fully healed, which can take up to a year.
But that’s actually a good thing! It means your ethnic rhinoplasty will enhance your natural look, avoiding drastic, obvious changes.
