A facial fat transfer involves two key areas of your body—your face and the area we’re harvesting fat from.

First, your doctor will numb both the donor and treatment sites with local anesthesia and thoroughly clean them. Then, your Younique provider will make small incisions in the donor area and use a tiny tube called a cannula to gently collect the fat. This fat is usually taken from areas like the thighs, abdomen, or buttocks, depending on your body-slimming goals and medical preferences.

Once the fat is harvested, your surgeon carefully injects it beneath the skin of your face to restore lost volume, fill in hollow areas, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, plump your lips, and enhance the fullness and lift of your cheekbones.

Depending on the amount of fat transferred, you can expect some swelling and bruising at both the donor and recipient areas during the first week or so. Typically, these side effects subside within 10 to 14 days. Most patients can resume their normal activities about 7 days after the procedure.
