Procedure
We ask that you arrive for your appointment without any makeup on or around the treatment area. We’ll welcome you back into our treatment room, where you can get comfortable.
Your provider will first gently cleanse the desired area. After this, they will mark the injection sites and carefully administer the Juvéderm—and that’s it! Treatment can take up to 45 minutes.
Recovery
Our staff at Younique will give you the recovery information when you’re finished with your consultation or before getting Juvéderm in Oxnard. To have the best recovery possible:
- Do not massage or touch the treated area for at least 3 days after treatment.
- Avoid any exposure to excess heat or cold.
- If you must be in direct sunlight, we recommend wearing SPF 30 (or higher) sunscreen.
You may notice results almost immediately. However, some patients have reported mild redness, tenderness, and discomfort in the areas around the injection site. These symptoms are normal and shouldn’t last for more than a few days. Give our office a call if any of these symptoms persist for more than 3 days.

Juvéderm lasts 3 months or more, depending on the product used, the injection location, and your own body’s biology.
While some Juvéderm products typically last for 9 to 12 months, newer cross-linked products, like Juvéderm Vollure, can last longer, ranging from 12 to 18 months. These ranges exist because results will depend based on how quickly your body breaks down the hyaluronic acid-based solutions, as well as the areas injected. For example, Juvéderm injected in the cheeks may last up to 2 years and require less maintenance, whereas lip enhancements may need more upkeep because this area experiences greater movement.
Juvéderm Voluma has been proven to last as long as 2 years in some patients, while Juvéderm Ultra XC or Juvéderm Ultra Plus can smooth and soften facial lines for 12 to 18 months.
