Consultation
Our process begins with a consultation led by one of our expert Younique providers. This one-on-one meeting is the perfect time to discuss your concerns, goals for treatment, and medical history. If your provider recommends a lip lift in Santa Monica, we can schedule your surgery and give you all the details you need to prepare.

Procedure
To start, we provide a local anesthetic to numb the area, providing optimal comfort during the procedure. The anesthetic could be topical, injectable, or a combination.
After numbing your lips, your Younique surgeon will clean the area. Then, they will make a small incision from the outer edge of one nostril to the other.
To achieve the “lift” look, your surgeon reduces the distance between the nose and the upper lip, closing it off with a suture. This technique effectively pulls the lip upward.

Recovery
There is a good chance you will experience swelling and bruising around your lips for at least 2 to 4 weeks after the operation. Any visible scarring is temporary and should disappear within 3 to 4 months.

Who makes a good candidate for a lip lift?
Almost everyone is a good candidate for a lip lift. If you’re looking for fuller lips for a fresher appearance, prefer facial symmetry, or want to reduce aging effects, a lip lift is an excellent choice!
A lip lift in Santa Monica may not be the best option for heavy smokers or people with little skin between their lips and nose. If this is the case for you, your Younique provider can suggest alternatives to help you achieve your aesthetic goals, some of which may not even require surgery!
What should I expect during recovery from a lip lift surgery?
Following your procedure, you may experience redness and swelling beneath your nose and around your upper lip. This is normal. Some patients, especially those with oily skin, may experience prolonged redness, which can be covered with light makeup.
A majority of our patients return to regular activities within 10 days of the procedure. Once healing is complete, you can expect the final results to be permanent.
