Procedure
Most peels apply concentrated serums and gels that work to chemically “peel” the top layers of skin for less lines and wrinkles and more of that youthful “glow.” Our Cosmelan peel works similarly, but when we apply the Cosmelan topical cream to your face as a mask, it also goes to the root of age spots, inhibiting hyperpigmentation from overproduction of melanin—and eliminating those patches while reducing pore size and repairing skin damage.
Recovery
As with any peel, time will be needed for your body’s natural healing process to shed the older skin and fully heal. We recommend during this time that you:
- Stay out of the sun for about 7 days.
- Avoid activities that cause heavy sweating for a few days.
- Use soap-free gentle, hydrating cleansers for 7 days, applied by hand only. No scrubbing.
- Apply moisturizer twice each day for 7 to 14 days, until your skin is no longer dry and tight.
- Put on sunscreen that is SPF 30 or higher each day for the future protection of your younger skin.
