It starts with a personal consultation with your trained and licensed Younique provider. During this relaxing and energizing one-on-one, they’ll discuss your concerns, your goals for treatment, and your medical history. If your provider determines that a custom chemical face peel in Los Angeles is the best treatment for your concerns and goals, your session can be scheduled.
Procedure
Your custom peel can be designed to exfoliate the upper most layer of skin or to go deeper for pigmentation and skin texture improvements. First your Younique provider thoroughly cleanses the treatment area, then applies the personalized chemical peel solution. You may feel a burning sensation (similar to a sun burn) for 1 to 2minutes during the peel. After a layer of skin peels off, it reveals fresher, tighter cells for younger looking skin.
Recovery
Our custom chemical peel recovery times depend upon the patient’s healing abilities. In general, patients should:
- Stay out of the sun for about 7 days.
- Avoid activities that cause heavy sweating for a few days.
- For 7 days use soap-free gentle, hydrating cleansers, applied by hand only. No scrubbing.
- Apply moisturizer twice each day for 7 to 14 days, until your skin is no longer dry and tight.
- Put on sunscreen that is SPF 30 or higher each day for the future protection of your younger skin.

What's the downtime after a custom chemical peel?
There is no strict answer to the length of downtime after a chemical peel. The amount of time you’ll want for restful recovery will depend on several factors, including:
- Your genetics (ability to heal).
- How your skin reacts to the chemicals.
- The strength/depth of your peel.
- Your comfort in social settings while peeling.
- How your environment could affect vulnerable skin.
- Your personal comfort tolerances.
We always recommend to have 7 to 14 days available to you after your custom chemical peel to allow the minimum healing before heading back out into regular daily activities. Your Younique provider will discuss your lifestyle along with your goals to help create the best custom chemical peel for your situation.
How soon can I get another custom chemical peel?
A lot of our patients see the positive results of their custom chemical peel—and want more of those results! We’re happy when you’re happy, but there does need to be some time between treatments to let your body fully heal. If you have another peel too soon, you run the risk of damaging that new, supple, youthful-looking skin, rather than supporting it.
