Procedure
We begin our liposuction procedure by injecting tumescent anesthesia into the treatment area. We provide this diluted local anesthetic in large doses to the fat tissue. It causes temporary swelling in the skin, constricts the blood vessels, and numbs the treatment area.
Next, your Younique provider makes a small incision to insert the stainless cannula, a small specialized tube, into the treatment area. The cannula breaks up the adipocyte membranes and suctions out the fat cells through the attached hose and specialized vacuum apparatus.
Recovery
Patients wear a compression garment for up to 6 weeks following their liposuction procedure. We encourage walking and other non-strenuous activities, but recommend waiting 2 to 4 weeks before resuming heavy exercise.
It is possible to experience swelling, bruising, and soreness at the liposuction site for several weeks. Many patients may feel comfortable returning to work within a week after liposuction in Santa Monica.
