Procedure
Arrive at your microneedling appointment wearing no makeup or lotion in the treatment area. After you arrive and are comfortable in the treatment room, your provider will start by cleansing the desired area.
After the gentle cleansing, your provider will apply the numbing cream to ensure the treatment is as painless as possible. It can take up to 30 minutes to numb the treatment area. During this time, if you elected to include PRP in your treatment, your provider will draw a small amount of blood to extract the platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
Once everything is ready, we will apply the chosen skincare options, serums, or PRP to the treatment area. After this, your experienced provider will use the Eclipse MicroPen to create tiny micro-injuries in your skin. These micro-injuries allow for better production of collagen and new skin growth.
Recovery
Full recovery may take up to 4 days, depending on the microneedling treatment you and your provider decided on.
In these 4 days, you may experience:
- Slight redness with swelling may occur—like a slight sunburn.
- Stay out of direct (and artificial) UV light for at least 4 days.
- Be delicate when applying your normal skincare routine.
- Do not scrub the treated area harshly.
The sunburn sensation will go away within the first few days after treatment. If it persists longer than 4 days, reach out to our office and we will address your concerns.

How long will my appointment take?
